METHODS OF CEMENT TESTING Sand for strength measurements
Certified in accordance with EN 196-1
Conforming to iso 679
CHARACTERISTICS
CEN Standard sand (ISO standard sand) is a natural sand, which is siliceous particularly its finest fractions. It is clean, the particles are generally isometric and rounded in shape. It is dried, screened and prepared in a modern workshop which offers every guarantee in terms of quality and consistency.
The sand is packaged in polyethylene bags each containing 1 350 ± 5 g.
Deliveries are made in boxes of 16 bags weighing 21.6 kg and in pallets of 2 to 54 boxes, suitably protected by a polyethylene cover (land transport) or reinforced boxes (shipping).
CONTROLS
The grading, measured by sieving, complies with the requirements of EN 196-1 (§5) and of ISO 679: 2009 (§5).
Square Mesh Size (mm) | Cumulative (%) Retained |
0.08 | 99 ± 1 |
0.16 | 87 ± 5 |
0.50 | 67 ± 5 |
1.00 | 33 ± 5 |
1.60 | 7 ± 5 |
2.00 | 0 |
This analysis is complemented by bag mass controls, water content controls and strength controls, in accordance with EN 196-1 (§11) and ISO 679: 2009 (§11).
